Lions' Kenny Golladay Stars In Pepsi Holiday Campaign

Lions WR Kenny Golladay's profile will "get another boost when Pepsi debuts a clever holiday advertising campaign built around his likeness," according to Dave Birkett of the DETROIT FREE PRESS. Golladay, who has "appeared in commercials for a few local businesses in his first three NFL seasons, spent a day in Detroit earlier this month shooting a 'Happy Golladays' spot that includes a guest appearance" by Pro Football HOFer Barry Sanders. The "digital campaign, at  madeforlionswatching.com , features Golladay in a personalized ugly sweater and offers fans a chance to win signed Lions merchandise, gift cards and their own 'Happy Golladays' swag, among other things" ( DETROIT FREE PRESS, 10/29 ). In Detroit, Ted Kulfan notes fans can "win a limited-edition 'Golladay' holiday sweater, a virtual cooking class and a holiday meal with Golladay and his private chef, Chris Donaldson" ( DETROIT NEWS, 10/29 ). In Michigan, Kyle Meinke writes Golladay has "become a star" in Detroit, though he "still is slept on" outside of the region. However, that is changing, and the Pepsi ad "could help propel him into the mainstream" ( MLIVE.com, 10/28 ).
