Maserati taps David Beckham as new face of brand

David Beckham is the "new global brand ambassador of Maserati," an announcement he made in a new ad directed by Harmony Korine, according to ESQUIRE. The spot highlights Beckham’s "uncanny ability to avoid his myriad responsibilities and tightly packed schedule by doing donuts in a Miami parking lot with his new Maserati SUV, the Levante Trofeo." The Korine-helmed short film is the "'first act' of the partnership between Beckham and Maserati, with much more to come" (ESQUIRE.com, 4/13).

COMING TO A SCREEN NEAR YOU: THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER's Alex Rittman notes Disney+ "finally confirmed a well-known TV secret, that David Beckham is teaming with the streamer." As part of its "ongoing European expansions," Disney+ is working with Beckham "on the factual series, Save Our Squad." Co-produced by BAFTA-winning production company Twenty Twenty and Beckham's own Studio 99, "Save Our Squad" will see Beckham "return to the east London soccer pitches where he played as a child, where he will mentor a young grassroots side who are struggling to survive in the league" (HOLLYWOODREPORTER.com, 4/13).
