Mitsubishi on Thursday debuted a new 3-foot by 1,035-foot, 360-degree fascia ribbon board display at the Sabres’ KeyBank Center, an installation that took less than three months. “The Sabres approached us in mid-July about needing to replace their failing ribbon board and with the original supplier (Philips) no longer in the business, they were in a bind,” said Todd Stih, GM of Mitsubishi’s Diamond Vision Systems Division. “Normally the process is about 4 ½ to 5 months, so even in normal times, a three-month start to finish ribbon board install is a quick turnaround. But despite all the COVID supply chain and freight challenges, we completed the installation in time for the first home game.” Other NHL arenas that have Mitsubishi displays are Bridgestone Arena, Enterprise Center, PPG Paints Arena, United Center and Wells Fargo Center. Stih was named an SBJ Venue Technology Power Player earlier this year.
