Former NHL Head of Communications BERNADETTE MANSUR passed away last month, and former league Dir of Communications MARY PAT CLARKE wrote in a LinkedIn post that Mansur was “no less than a pioneer.” Mansur over saw the league’s “communications strategy when the league was seeking to expand its business beyond its roots in Canada into the possibilities of the US, and ultimately global, markets.” She spearheaded the league’s “first successful efforts to bring the unique strength and beauty of hockey and the appealing humility and character of its athletes into the mainstream” while being present for “some of the NHL’s most foundational milestones.” Clarke: “Bernadette could be demanding, exhausting, irreverent and supremely fun. And every one of us who was fortunate enough to be in her orbit learned from the experience.”
