In Detroit, Angelique Chengelis noted new officially licensed Michigan football trading cards are the NIL collaboration of the Valiant Management Group collective and retailer The M Den, and the program will “offer financial benefits to all of the players.” The trading cards “feature members from the 2022 football roster.” A 10-pack of cards is $16.95, and the majority of profits will go to a pool that will be "equally distributed among all of the players.” Last year, Valiant and The M Den worked together to unveil official Michigan jerseys with player names and numbers, with a "significant portion of jerseys-sale profits going to those players" (DETROIT NEWS, 7/30).
SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE: In Oklahoma City, Ryan Aber writes former NFLers and OU football players Dusty Dvoracek and Gabe Ikard are at the center of “Strengthening Oklahoma,” an NIL venture with "13 current OU players featuring interviews between Dvoracek and Ikard and the players" on a subscription website. The website launched yesterday, with monthly subscriptions “ranging from $19.50 to $200 per month” (OKLAHOMAN, 8/1).
THE COOKIE MONSTER: In Knoxville, Mike Wilson wrote Tennessee WR Cedric Tillman reached an NIL deal with Moonshine Mountain Cookie Company that will “give fans two free cookies if he catches two or more touchdowns in a game” (Knoxville NEWS SENTINEL, 7/30).
