NBPA's Tech Day Gives NBA Players Opportunity to Learn About Emerging Tech, Connect With Industry Executives

The National Basketball Players Association hosted its inaugural Tech Day LA last week in Los Angeles to give NBA players a first-hand look at working within the technology industry. The one-day event was open to current and former members of the NBPA as part of its career development program and included visits to headquarters for aerospace firm SpaceX, video commerce platform Whatnot, and robotic delivery startup Coco.

Tech Day LA was hosted in collaboration with Noah Lichtenstein, managing partner at early-stage venture capital firm Crossover VC. On the tour of company buildings, NBPA members learned about the day-to-day operations of each business and attended a networking dinner that included founders from more than 15 venture-backed startups.

Lichtenstein has led the NBPA's technology programming since 2018. His Crossover VC firm has invested in startups such as high school sports streaming provider Play On! Sports and social audio app Clubhouse, which has signed deals with the NFL and the NHL.
