Oval3, a blockchain-backed fantasy rugby game, has secured the exclusive NFT and fantasy sports licenses from Major League Rugby. Oval3 plans to release an official MLR Fantasy NFT game by the midpoint of the recently started 2023 MLR season. French rugby star Antoine Dupont, who was named World Rugby Player of the Year in 2021, is a shareholder of Oval3, whose first partnership was with the French Rugby National League. The duration of the partnership was not announced, but Oval3 signaled its interest in supporting the long-term growth of rugby in North America in advance of the Rugby World Cups in the US: in 2031 for the men and 2033 for the women.
