id3as launching low-code live streaming software development toolkit called Norsk

The video pipeline company id3as is launching a low-code, high-power live streaming development kit this Thursday at the Streaming Media East convention in Boston, advancing its customized workflow solution that has previously been deployed by DAZN and Stats Perform.

Known as Norsk, the toolkit’s low-code capability will simplify the live stream process for sports leagues and broadcast houses. The company is marketing the product under the premise that providers will not have to be experts in video technology to construct "dynamic custom workflows."

Advantages of Norsk are that the livestreams only require a few lines of code and, at the same time, produce low-latency, reliable streams that include picture-in-picture, HTML overlays and source switching. Norsk also is "self-healing," which means if a server or cloud region is disrupted, a viewer will not lose content. The Streaming Media East event runs Thursday and Friday at Boston’s Westin Copley Place, where id3as will provide demos of Norsk.
