The Stockton Kings have revamped their leadership, and now two women will lead an NBA G League team for the “first time in the league’s history,” according to Jason Anderson of the SACRAMENTO BEE. The Stockton Kings announced yesterday that former WNBAer Lindsey Harding has “been named head coach” and assistant GM Anjali Ranadivé has “been promoted to general manager.” Harding “replaces former Stockton Kings coach Bobby Jackson," who left to join 76ers coach Nick Nurse’s staff as an assistant coach, while Ranadivé “replaces Paul Johnson, who will remain with the organization in a front office role.” Harding spent the past four seasons as an assistant coach/player development coach for the NBA's Kings and Ranadivé is the daughter of Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé (SACRAMENTO BEE, 6/20). YAHOO SPORTS’ Callie Lawson-Freeman noted Anjali Ranadivé is the “third female general manager for a G League team” and Harding is the “second woman to ever coach a professional men's basketball team in the U.S.” (YAHOO SPORTS, 6/20).
