New La Salle AD enters role amid push for arena renovation

New La Salle Univ. AD Ashwin Puri enters the role just as a "major renovation to Tom Gola Arena" is about to "get off the ground after years of hopes and attempts," according to Mike Jensen of the PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER. Puri said, “That’s where I can lend a helping hand, I think, on what the priorities are and should be, in terms of effective ticketing, with an eye on hospitality, fan experience. Use it as a springboard to create a benefit in getting more things done.” Puri joins La Salle from Villanova where he served as Senior Associate AD & COO and was the school's “point person dealing with the reconfiguring of the Big 5." He also worked early in his career with the N.Y. Jets and Nets. Puri replaced Brian Baptiste, who left La Salle in April to become Senior Deputy AD at the Univ. of Miami. Puri was a 2017 SBJ Forty Under 40 honoree (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 6/23).
