Philly Casino Tests Online Sports Betting For Pennsylvania

Legal online sports wagering began in Pennsylvania yesterday afternoon, as Philadelphia's SugarHouse Casino kicked off a "state-supervised test period of its app and web-based opportunities." The initial eight-hour test took wagers from 4:00pm-12:00am ET. It will be "repeated during wider hours" today and tomorrow. SugarHouse and Pittsburgh's Rivers Casino both opened sportsbooks within their casinos in December, and it was "just a matter of time before they began accepting sports wagers online as well" ( PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 5/29 ).

The LAWRENCE JOURNAL-WORLD goes with, " Secrets Of KU basketball Ticket Sales At Center Of Lawsuit In Lawrence, Prompted By Dueling Brokers ." Tickets for Less sued Kansas Athletics Inc. in December to "prevent KU from releasing what the company argues are its own 'trade secrets' -- to its competition or anyone else from the public." The case remains pending, with the next hearing set for August.
