Tom Brady ends retirement, returns to Bucs

Tom Brady "ended his retirement" and on Sunday night announced that he "will quarterback the Bucs" in '22. Brady made the "NFL-jolting declaration on social media one day after visiting with members of the Glazer family, who own the Bucs, as a guest at a Manchester United game." The timing is "not coincidental," as it came "on the eve of the start of the free-agent negotiating period." The Buccaneers "can now focus on building around" the future HOFer with "other free agents." On Sunday, Bucs coach Bruce Arians said that Brady contacted him, the Glazers and GM Jason Licht (TAMPA BAY TIMES, 3/13).

The announcement came the same day Brady posted a video on his Instagram stories in which ManU F Cristiano Ronaldo asked him, "You're finished right?" Brady's answer was "not audible, but the expression on his face suggested he really hadn't closed the door on retirement" (ESPN.com, 3/13).
