F1 and Liberty Media have settled with a group that was trying to block the Vegas Grand Prix because it claimed it had a prior commitment from former CEO Bernie Ecclestone to be the promoter if the event ever happened. Liberty made the announcement on Thursday night in conjunction with the promoter, P2M Motorsports. Other parties to the settlement included the LVCVA and its ad agency, R&R Partners, and the sides said they’re keeping the terms of the settlement private. F1 had sued P2M last year and alleged that it was interfering in its negotiations to set up the Vegas Grand Prix, which is now set to debut in 2023. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali indicated that the series was “pleased to move past this matter so that we may focus our local efforts exclusively on creating a marquee event.”
