MLB Winter Meetings start with moves expected

The MLB Winter Meetings start today at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego. After being "canceled by the pandemic in 2020 and by the lockout in 2021," the meetings could be "eventful given the talented class of free agents and number of teams with legitimate postseason hopes for 2023." Players who "will be in the spotlight" include free agent RF Aaron Judge, Red Sox SS Xander Bogaerts, Twins SS Carlos Correa, Braves SS Dansby Swanson and Nationals SS Tre Turner. Some players “have been on the market for close to a month now” (BOSTON GLOBE, 12/3). Until this weekend, the offseason market had been "relatively quiet” (WASHINGTON POST, 11/4). The N.Y. DAILY NEWS’ Bill Madden offers his Winter Meeting predictions.
