The Univ. of Iowa saw "a massive increase in revenue" in 2022, as total revenue for fiscal year 2022 totaled $151,483,092 against total expenses for the year of $151,144,861, for a small surplus of $338,231 -- the athletic department's first surplus since FY2019 (DES MOINES REGISTER, 1/27).
The start of the second half of the Ohio State-Indiana men's basketball gam yesterday "delayed after a piece of metal fell from the jumbotron" at Assembly Hall right before play was to begin. The game was "delayed briefly," but a maintenance crew went up into the scoreboard "to check what had occurred" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 1/28).
