Live-streaming agreement with AAU is one to watch

It’s not a huge deal, like the one the Big Ten Conference is negotiating with big media companies. But FloSports’ pact to live-stream 10 regional qualifier track meets this summer is one that piques my interest and shows how smaller rights holders can get distribution.

The subscription-based FloSports signed a deal with the Amateur Athletic Union. The qualifiers lead up to the AAU Junior Olympic Games, which are held July 27-Aug. 6 in Houston.

FloSports pursued the deal to persuade the families of the 10,000 or so participating athletes to sign up for a subscription.
