Several of the NBA’s tech partners are activating throughout All-Star weekend, looking to engage fans in Salt Lake City with their latest innovations:
- Google is setting up a “Pixel Playground” that is free to the public, featuring an immersive re-creation of a pick-up game from this Pixel 7 ad and other family-oriented pop-up experiences.
- During Saturday night’s dunk contest, AT&T will power the Shaq Cam, a set of 5G Google Pixel Pro 7 phones that will stream both the dunks and Shaquille O’Neal’s reactions to each. Meanwhile, AT&T’s Playmaker Arcade is an augmented reality game at the NBA Crossover space where fans can dunk and dribble utilizing 360-degree body scan technology to create personalized avatars that can compete in a digital dunk contest against current and former pros.
- NBA All-World publisher Niantic will be promoting its new AR game with a snow vehicle driving around Salt Lake City dropping gear, giveaways, prizes and special content for fans playing the game. NBA All-World will also have engagement space outside Vivint Arena for fans to redeem prizes won by collecting passport stamps that encourage visits to local businesses.
