GSW valued at $7B as minority group explores sale

A group of Warriors minority owners are "exploring the possibility of selling their roughly 10% stake in the franchise" at an assessed worth of $7B. However, potential investors in the team have "balked at that valuation," according to sources. If a sale were to be made at that figure, it would make the Warriors "one of the world's most valuable sports teams" and would also mark the third ownership change in the NBA this year. Majority owner Joe Lacob headed a group in 2010 that purchased the team "for about" $450M (San Jose MERCURY NEWS, 9/22).
