Sinclair Broadcasting Group is “exploring options for its Tennis Channel network after getting interest from potential buyers,” according to sources cited by Hudson & Davis of BLOOMBERG NEWS. The company has hired a financial advisor to help evaluate its options. The sources added that talks “aren’t final and plans may change.” Sinclair acquired the Tennis Channel for $350M in 2016 and operates it along with its 185 television stations. The cable network holds the U.S. rights to men’s ATP World Tour and women’s WTA Tour competitions. Hudson & Davis noted last year, Sinclair reorganized into a holding company, creating a new division called Sinclair Ventures that houses Tennis Channel and marketing technology company Compulse alongside its Sinclair Broadcast business (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 2/7).
