The trio launched Causeway in 2013; Wyc Grousbeck, the control owner of the Boston Celtics, previously had worked alongside Bob Higgins at Highland Capital Partners. Mark Wan, who’d often co-invested with the pair while at Three Arch Partners, is a team investor with stakes in the Celtics and San Francisco 49ers. Causeway, the growth-stage investment firm with some $340 million under management across its first two funds, has taken stakes in Formula E, SeatGeek and, most recently, the newly launched, for-profit PGA Tour Enterprises. It also had taken a stake in QuintEvents, the sports travel and ticketing business that was last year acquired by Liberty Media at a $313 million valuation.
