Hamilton County taxpayers would “kick in” $5M in the effort to attract a NWSL expansion team to Cincinnati under the proposed budget by the Hamilton County administration, according to Scott Wartman of the CINCINNATI ENQUIRER. Hamilton County Administrator Jeff Aluotto mentioned that the money would go toward “acquiring and developing a site for the team's training facility should the region win the bid.” The $5M would come out of a $389M general fund budget that also “pays for sheriff's deputies, the county jail, 911 dispatch and the auditor among other county departments.” Aluotto noted exactly “where the facility would be remains unknown.” Hamilton County Board of Commissioners President Alicia Reece, at the commission meeting last week, asked Aluotto to “look into the possibility of the training facility also being a youth sports complex” (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 11/25).
