In Philadelphia, Jeff Blumenthal reported convenience store chain Wawa is partnering with former NFLer Nick Foles for a “pre-game television ad” that will run this weekend. The company said that the spot will debut Saturday and run through Sunday, including right before kickoff of Super Bowl LIX on Philadelphia-based WTXF-Fox. The Super Bowl LII MVP will serve as narrator of the ad. Wawa is the official hoagie sponsor of the team (PHILADELPHIA BUSINESS JOURNAL, 2/5).
STAR MEMORABILIA: GOLF DIGEST’s Jill Lopez reported trading card company Upper Deck is signing LPGA player Rose Zhang to a deal that will “feature her in a card set, as well as offering unique signed memorabilia pieces.” The only other female golfer featured in the California-based company’s website store is China’s Shanshan Feng, who retired in 2022. Other female golfers have been celebrated on trading cards, including Annika Sorenstam and Babe Zaharias, but they did not “get the full treatment that Upper Deck is giving to Zhang” (GOLF DIGEST, 2/4).
