Media Notes

In Nashville, Mike Organ wrote Taylor Zarzour, who took over as the Titans lead play-by-play voice in 2025, “will serve as the lead play-by-play voice for SiriusXM’s live radio coverage of the 90th edition of the Masters” this year. He will call “all four rounds from a booth near the 18th green.” NBC’s Mike Tirico, who has served as the voice of the Masters on radio since 2022, “is taking the year off,” providing Zarzour -- who has been involved in coverage of the Masters for 17 years -- “the opportunity to take the lead role” (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 3/26).

MOVING ON: In N.Y., Thomas Gamba-Ellis wrote personality Clinton Yates “is out” at ESPN in the latest shakeup for the network, as his role will be “ending amid changes” to its 10am to noon ET programming window. Yates’ work as a senior writer with Andscape will also “come to an end,” with no additional work planned for the platform. Yates originally joined ESPN in 2016 (N.Y. POST, 3/27). AWFUL ANNOUNCING’s Sam Neumann wrote ESPN analyst and former MLBer Xavier Scruggs is out at the network after his contract “ended and was not renewed.” Scruggs joined ESPN in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic (AWFUL ANNOUNCING, 3/29).

MAKING A COMEBACK: In Seattle, Adam Jude wrote Mariners TV color analyst Angie Mentink is “back on the job” after she suffered a stroke on Feb. 21. The stroke left her “paralyzed on her left side, and she had to relearn how to walk and everyday tasks.” Last year, Mentink became the first woman in club history to serve a regular role as in in-game color analyst (SEATTLE TIMES, 3/28).
