The Univ. of North Carolina and Univ. of Illinois men’s basketball teams will play in the Nashville Hoops Showdown at Bridgestone Arena on Jan. 30, according to Said Bravo of the Nashville TENNESSEAN. The event marks the second straight season Illinois will play in Nashville. Last season, the Illini beat Tennessee, 75-62, in the same venue and went on to make its first Final Four since 2005 (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 6/25).
