Firestone will “remain the title sponsor for the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg for another three years” after extending its deal with the IndyCar race through ’23. The company has “been the event’s title sponsor since 2014.” Race organizers also announced the next three iterations of the event will take place in early March and again serve as its “usual season-opening status.” Sunday’s race, which was postponed when the pandemic first hit, is serving as IndyCar’s season-ending event this year, with Scott Dixon and Josef Newgarden battling for the series championship (TAMPA BAY TIMES, 10/23).
