The Blue Jackets confirmed they will up capacity at Nationwide Arena to 25% starting March 9 -- per Ohio's newly loosened COVID-19 restrictions -- and they will "once again prioritize season ticket holders" as they sell additional tickets. The team "will welcome a total of 4,500 fans, up from slightly less than 2,000." The Blue Jackets last week sold out at the 10% level capacity in "about 48 hours." Starting tomorrow, there will be an "additional presale opportunity for season ticket holders, including mini-plan holders." A "limited number of tickets will be available to the public starting Saturday morning" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 3/3).
Meanwhile, the Red Wings will "take advantage of eased restrictions that allow 750 people in the stands at Little Caesars Arena" beginning with the March 9 game against the Lightning. The team could host 250 fans when the season began on Jan. 14; that was increased 16 days later to 500 (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 3/3).
