Canadiens make Belanger President of CH Group

The Canadiens named Exec VP & Chief Commercial Officer France Margaret Belanger the new President of Sports & Entertainment for parent company CH Group, making Belanger the "first woman to serve on the executive committee" of the Canadiens. Belanger joined the Canadiens in '13 as Senior VP & Chief Legal Officer. In '17, she was promoted to Exec VP & Chief Commercial officer as her "scope was expanded to lead the hockey commercial strategy." In '20, her scope was "further broadened to lead the entertainment group, as she continued to oversee legal and public affairs and community relations." In '20, Belanger was chosen by NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman to "sit on the NHL Executive Inclusion Council" (MONTREAL GAZETTE, 8/24).

Belanger "will continue to focus on all marketing, event planning and business aspects" of CH Group in her new role. Canadiens Owner, President & CEO Geoff Molson "retains his responsibilities" as team president and GM Marc Bergevin "will continue to report to him" (CP, 8/24).
