NFL Divisional games drive Twitter engagement

The NFL's Divisional playoff games produced big year-over-year gains in terms of Twitter engagement, with the number of tweets about the four games over two days up 58% from the same slate in '21. Unique authors were up 42%, and impressions up 27%. Twitter activity from this weekend’s slate from Saturday morning through Monday morning showed the most tweeted about players were the starting QBs for five of the eight teams: the Packers' Aaron Rodgers, Bills' Josh Allen, Buccaneers' Tom Brady, 49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo and Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes. The moments with the highest tweet volume were:

  • Chiefs score game-winning touchdown in OT against Bills
  • Chiefs make field goal to send game to OT
  • Bills score game-tying TD with 13 seconds left in regulation
  • Rams make game-winning field goal vs. Bucs (Twitter).
