Liberty Media President & CEO Greg Maffei noted F1’s TV rights in the U.S. are drawing “a lot of interest” and that the company is “looking for a broadcast partner.” He said ESPN, which has aired F1 races since '18, has been a “great partner.” Maffei: “They got a very good deal because we've had a rise in popularity, and they’ve capitalized on that as well.” ESPN’s current deal expires at the end of the season, and while the net could retain the rights, Maffei said the new media deal is “likely to be at a much better price for us” ( “Squawk on the Street,” CNBC, 4/4).
