Twitter accepts Musk's $44B takeover bid

Twitter today "accepted Elon Musk’s bid to take over the company." The two sides "worked through the night" to hammer out the $44B deal (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 4/25). Discussions over the deal, which last week "appeared uncertain, accelerated over the weekend after Musk wooed Twitter shareholders with financing details of his offer." Twitter's shares were "up about 6% following the news" (REUTERS.com, 4/25). The two sides were "focused on determining whether Musk had the financing to complete the acquisition, and did not spend much time discussing Musks’s strategy for the future of the social network" (WASHINGTON POST, 4/25).
