Boxing returns to Vegas with Alvarez-Bivol tilt

Boxing will return to Las Vegas on Saturday after a "pandemic-imposed two-year absence" with the Canelo Alvarez- Dmitri Bivol fight slated for T-Mobile Arena. On Cinco de Mayo weekend, the event will be "as much a festival as it is a sporting competition." Mexican flags will "wave on the Strip in the hours leading up to the fight." With Latinos comprising a "growing percentage of boxing’s audience, Cinco de Mayo has become one of the two cornerstones on the sport’s calendar, along with Mexican Independence Day" (L.A. TIMES, 5/6). As of yesterday, the "cheapest face-value floor seat is $1,875 not including tax and fees." The "closest seat to the ring available at face value is currently selling for $3,505" (8NEWSNOW.com, 5/5).
