The Jets Tuesday sent an e-mail to individuals on their season-ticket waiting list "informing them of ticket availability at all levels for the upcoming season," according to John Brennan of the Bergen RECORD. Jets Exec VP/Business Operations Matt Higgins: "There are 5 million Jets fans out there just in the New York metropolitan area, but most think it's virtually impossible to buy season tickets. ... We will sell out, but this is an opportunity." Waiting-list members now can "buy the available seats on a first-come, first-served basis," but Higgins said that the "most senior members on the list are being called directly to gauge their interest." Brennan notes in previous years, a "limited number of fans among the roughly 14,000 people on the Jets' waiting list were informed of their chance to replace season-ticket holders who chose not to renew," and Higgins said that "about 7,000 tickets changed hands that way last year" ( Bergen RECORD, 7/16 ). PACKAGE DEAL : The Jaguars announced two new ticket packages Monday, "called half packs and value packs." The half packs, which start at $200, "give fans the option to purchase packages that secure the same seat for five home games" during the '09 season. Meanwhile, a four-seat value pack, which can be bought for "any single game," costs $50 per seat and "includes a hot dog, soft drink and popcorn" ( FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 7/14 ). GLAD TO HAVE YOU BAC K: In Boston, Mike Reiss reported Patriots season-ticket holders have "received their pack of tickets along with a welcome-back message" from Patriots Owner Robert Kraft and President Jonathan Kraft. The message: "The recent recession and the impact on the global economy caused many to review and re-prioritize their discretionary spending. Knowing that nearly 95[%] renewed their accounts again this year proves, once again, how important the Patriots are to our season ticket holders. Never has your loyalty been more appreciated." Reiss noted season tickets "arrived with a Boston Patriots bumper sticker and a '50 Seasons' pin for each ticket holder" ( BOSTON.com, 7/15 ).
