NFL labor impasse continues

Players call ends with no vote after owners approve proposal

NFL owners Thursday evening voted in favor of a comprehensive deal that would provide for a new collective-bargaining agreement as well as resolution to outstanding legal issues between the league and players, but contingent on NFL players re-forming as a union and signing off on the same deal.

NFL players at about 10 p.m. ET concluded a conference call with the NFLPA Executive Committee and player representatives, and no vote on a deal was taken. The league has said the players have until Tuesday to ratify the proposal.
