The Indians "will host" the '19 MLB All-Star Game at Progressive Field, according to sources cited by Zack Meisel of the Cleveland PLAIN DEALER. The team is expected to "hold a press conference" tomorrow morning to announce the news. This will be the sixth time the Indians have hosted the ASG, with the most recent being in '97. No other franchise has "hosted more," and only N.Y. and Chicago -- cities with multiple teams -- have "hosted more" than Cleveland. The selection of Progressive Field will "snap a string" of four consecutive NL ballparks "chosen to host the event." Since the last time the Indians hosted, the "majority of their AL adversaries have also taken a turn" (CLEVELAND.com, 1/26).
