That's The Ticket: StubHub's Q4 Results Show 20% Revenue Increase From '15

StubHub during its Q4 ended Dec. 31 generated $279M in revenue, up 20% from the comparable period in ’15, and a company record $1.2B in gross sales, according to earnings released yesterday by corporate parent eBay. Baseball and theater ticket sales were credited for the growth at the ticket resale marketplace. During the quarter, several event records were set during the Cubs-Indians World Series. EBay in the prior earnings report warned of the potential for slowing growth for StubHub during Q4, and the 20% revenue growth in the most recent period was down from the 32% growth seen in the prior quarter. But the StubHub earnings still helped eBay beat expectations and boost the company stock in after-hours trading. For the full year in ’16, StubHub generated $944M in revenue, up 30% on $4.3B in gross sales. “Despite this quarter’s growth deceleration, StubHub’s prospects in the U.S. and internationally remain strong,” said eBay President & CEO Devin Wenig.
