Lions Going Through "Full Rebranding" With Tweaked Logo; Unveiling Uniforms This Spring

"Lions Rebrand"

The Lions for the second time in a decade "are going through a 'full rebranding' that includes changes to their logo, font and uniforms," according to Dave Birkett of the DETROIT FREE PRESS. The Lions yesterday "unveiled an updated logo and new font online." The team in a statement yesterday said that uniform changes "are coming" and will be publicly unveiled April 13. The new logo features "only subtle changes, replacing the black outline around the lion with a silver one and sharpening the image." Lions P Sam Martin yesterday said that he has "not yet seen the new uniforms but he likes the redesigned logo" (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 2/2). In Detroit, Justin Rogers notes the Lions "last overhauled their logo" in '09. The black trim "has been part of the logo and uniforms" since '03 (DETROIT NEWS, 2/2).
