MLB is tweaking the Spring Training uniform system introduced last year, including redesigned Spring Training patches and logos again based around the “FL” and “AZ” state abbreviations, and new cap designs for seven clubs. Reworked cap designs from league partner New Era for the Braves, Cubs, Indians, Mets, Yankees, Mariners and Rays follow eight others rolled out for Spring Training in ’16. The Cubs in particular will use their historic cubby bear logo for their hat, while the Mariners' triton logo will make its debut on the club’s primary Spring Training hats. The Yankees will have two new alternate caps, including one with a pinstriped visor. Other Spring Training branding elements introduced last year, such as field and base markings using the Arizona and Florida-themed logos and those for the Cactus and Grapefruit Leagues, will return for ’17.
