The Univ. of Michigan’s football season-ticket base "will reach 93,000 this fall, a mark it has not seen" since before the '07 season, according to Angelique Chengelis of the DETROIT NEWS. Football season tickets have been "just under 90,000 in each of the past two seasons, but the athletic department chose to increase that number because of demand." The renewal rate among "existing ticketholders" currently stands at 99%. This season UM hosts rivals Michigan State and Ohio State (DETROIT NEWS, 5/3). In Michigan, Nick Baumgardner noted included in the 93,000 figure is 21,000 student season tickets -- also the "highest it's been" since '07. UM's student ticket numbers "plummeted all the way down to 11,597" in '14, which was Brady Hoke's final year as coach (MLIVE.com, 5/2).
