Gila River Gaming Enterprises In Mix For NFL Cardinals' Stadium Naming Rights

Gila River Gaming Enterprises "could be in the mix" as the NFL Cardinals "look for a new naming rights sponsor" for Univ. of Phoenix Stadium, according to Mike Sunnucks of the PHOENIX BUSINESS JOURNAL. The Cardinals announced last month they were shopping naming rights, though Univ. of Phoenix could remain if no partner is found. Gila River already has the naming rights for the Coyotes' hockey arena in Glendale. Sunnucks reports Gila River officials "will be meeting with the Cardinals about the stadium." Gila River "already has a corporate partnership deal" with the team. Gila River PR Manager Teaya Vicente said that the existing deal with the Coyotes at Gila River Arena "would not be impacted by a potential new pact" with the Cardinals. The Cardinals said that they "didn't expect to give any specific updates during the process of finding a new naming rights partner" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 5/10).
