Striking Gold: Nuggets Land Colorado-Based Western Union As Jersey Patch Sponsor

The Nuggets have signed a jersey patch deal with Colorado-based money transfer firm Western Union, the 11th team in the 30-team NBA to sign a jersey patch deal. The deal also makes Western Union a co-presenting sponsor of the team’s 50th anniversary next season. The three-year agreement also includes signage at Pepsi Center, a media buy on Altitude Sports television and radio broadcasts and branding on digital and social media platforms. Western Union also will become a sponsor of the Rapids, also owned by Kroenke Sports, beginning in '18 (John Lombardo, Staff Writer).

CLOSING IN: NBA.com's Casey Holdahl reported the Trail Blazers remain in conversations with numerous companies and are "'very optimistic' of the prospect of adding a sponsor logo to their jerseys this season." The goal is to have a jersey sponsor in place before the start of the '17-18 season, though it is also possible a logo will be "added mid-season, or not at all in the event that a suitable partner takes longer to find" (NBA.com, 7/28).
