Dodgers P Clayton Kershaw will "wear Skechers during the MLB playoffs and star in global marketing campaigns for Skechers men's performance and athletic lifestyle footwear" as part of a new multiyear partnership, according to Charlie Carballo of FOOTWEAR NEWS. Kershaw last week debuted "custom cleats emblazoned with three linked 'Cs,'" an homage to his three children whose names all begin with the letter "C" ( FOOTWEARNEWS.com, 10/2 ). In L.A., Bill Shaikin noted Skechers "does not sell baseball cleats, but the company worked with Kershaw to design a cleat just for him." By next year, the company "plans to sell a training shoe designed by Kershaw." Skechers has 28 athletes "signed as endorsers." The company said that Kershaw and former Olympic marathoner Meb Keflezighi are the "only ones to design shoes" ( L.A. TIMES, 10/2 ).
