Alcohol sales will be allowed at Mississippi State's Davis Wade Stadium this year after Ole Miss and "several other SEC schools started selling alcohol during the 2019 college football season," according to Tyler Horka of the Jackson CLARION LEDGER. MSU last year did not apply "for resort status in advance of the season as Ole Miss had done." However, the state Legislature's adoption of a new bill "eliminated the need to do so." Despite that, MSU will “lose quite a bit of attendance income” after Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves is "limiting stadium capacity to 25%." That means that "less than 16,000 Mississippi State fans will be allowed to sit in the stadium's outdoor seats this season." Fans attending Davis Wade Stadium will have to wear masks and "will have to line up six feet apart upon entry." There also will be "modified restroom layouts to promote physical distance between individuals" (Jackson CLARION LEDGER, 8/22).
