DC Board Votes To Make Nationals Park A Voting Center

DC Board of Elections Chair Michael Bennett said that voters will be able to "cast their ballots at Nationals Park during election week," according to Michael Brice-Saddler of the WASHINGTON POST. Bennett said that the board was still working with Nationals officials yesterday to "fine-tune details of the agreement, including where voters would enter the park." Brice-Saddler notes the elections board listed Nationals Park as both an "early-voting location and an Election Day vote center." They also indicated that voting "would take place in the concourse area." The ballpark "would be among a handful of 'super vote centers' -- a term coined by the Board of Elections to identify facilities with enough space to rapidly handle large numbers of voters." In addition to Nationals Park, the elections board has "identified Capital One Arena and the Omni Shoreham Hotel as other super vote centers" (WASHINGTON POST, 8/25).
