BMW Championship seeing strong early ticket sales ahead of Baltimore debut

The PGA Tour BMW Championship does not make its Baltimore debut until August, but organizers are "already expecting a solid turnout" for the event, according to Ryan McFadden of the BALTIMORE SUN. Tournament organizer Western Golf Association said that there "has been a 40% increase in ticket sales" from the '19 tournament at the Medinah Country Club in Illinois. Western Golf Association Senior VP/Tournaments Vince Pellegrino said, “It’s been an incredible response from the golf fans of Baltimore." Baltimore hasn’t hosted a PGA Tour event in nearly 60 years, and Pellegrino said the city is "certainly a golf starved market and an incredible sports town" (BALTIMORE SUN, 6/13).
