Dynamo CEO JAMEY ROOTES on Friday stepped down "immediately 'due to personal reasons,'" after being introduced in the role on June 22, according to the HOUSTON CHRONICLE. Rootes is "taking a leave of absence." The club in a statement said that they "look forward to welcoming Jamey back to the Club as a senior advisor to [Majority Owner] TED SEGAL and the organization" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 7/10). Dynamo President JOHN WALKER will continue to "manage and execute the growth initiatives" (ABC13.com, 7/9). In Houston, Matt Young noted Rootes resigned as Texans President in February, and four months later, "took the job as the Dynamo CEO when the franchise's new owner had his introductory press conference June 22." The Dynamo in a statement "left the door open for Rootes to return, though not as CEO" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 7/10).
