Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski is joining the cryptocurrency brokerage firm Voyager Digital as a brand ambassador ahead of the upcoming NFL season. The NFL star will appear in social media campaigns for Voyager and host a livestream event with the company later this season.
Voyager also plans to release a non-fungible token with Gronkowski, who previously launched his own NFT collection in March that sold for 830 Ether (currently equivalent to about $2.8 million.)
This past April, Voyager bought a full-season suite ticket package from the Oakland A’s for one Bitcoin in what was the first crypto transaction completed by an MLB club.
NASCAR driver Landon Cassill also signed a sponsorship deal with Voyager in June that paid him entirely in Litecoin.
