In N.Y., Brian Lewis noted Nets ratings on YES Network were "up three percent entering Friday night in an apples-to-apples comparison to the analogous date in the pre-pandemic 2019-20 season." The YES broadcasts had "averaged 62,000 viewers this season, up from 60,000 two years ago" (N.Y. POST, 11/14).

MOVING ON: In Cleveland, Joey Morona noted Cavaliers sideline reporter Angel Gray is "leaving Cleveland to work full-time for ESPN." Gray "didn't go into details about her new role, but she has appeared as a commentator on the network's women's college basketball broadcasts since 2013." Gray, who also has been a broadcaster on WNBA games for the Sparks and Dream, has covered the Cavs for four seasons. She joined Bally Sports Ohio in '18 (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 11/12).

ON HIS BEHALF: In N.Y., Bob Raissman wrote Stephen A. Smith's back "must have hurt from carrying 'Countdown.'" He was "tasked with cleaning up the slop left by [Jalen] Rose, who was out of the country." Smith read a clarification saying that Rose "made 'a mistake' during his recent comments about embattled Suns owner Robert Sarver, who is the subject of an NBA investigation." Raissman: "Rose sure picked a good time to be out of the country, right? Will this hovering, legal imbroglio have a chilling effect on Rose when it comes to speaking out about the Sarver situation?" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 11/13).
