MLB tapped longtime sports media vet BILL MORNINGSTAR to run MLB Network as the channel’s president. Morningstar replaces ROB MCGLARRY, who announced his resignation before Thanksgiving. McGlarry had run the channel since '14. MLB CRO NOAH GARDEN made the announcement yesterday during a town hall meeting at MLB Net’s Studio 42. In '14, Morningstar moved over to the commissioner’s office to run MLB’s sales, activation and research teams. Even with his new role overseeing MLB Net’s day-to-day operations, Morningstar will keep those sponsor responsibilities and will remain Exec VP/MLB Sponsorship Sales. He will continue to report to Garden (John Ourand, SBJ Media).
