MLB Cardinals outline part of marketing plans around Albert Pujols' return

The Cardinals have outlined some of their marketing plans for the ’22 season, and a portion “revolves around the return” of Albert Pujols, according to Daniel Neman of the ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH. The team is “reintroducing the concept of Pujols Packets, which were popular” during his previous tenure. Fans can choose “five games and receive $5 off per ticket per game, plus $5 in Cards Cash, which can be used at the stadium.” Cardinals Retail Dir Stephanie Spargur said that staff has “hand-pressed some jerseys and T-shirts bearing Pujols’ name and No. 5, with more official merchandise coming in as soon as Nike can make it.” Meanwhile, the team is also is honoring C Yadier Molina and P Adam Wainwright with “shirts and a fleece blanket depicting the two of them together” available at the stadium’s team store. Molina has announced his retirement after this season, while Wainwright is said to be considered retiring after ’22 (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 4/1).
