Pacers Owner Herb Simon plans to “develop a parking lot“ into a 30,000 square foot, two-story entertainment complex, according to Binghui Huang of the INDIANAPOLIS STAR. Simon said that the plan is to “complete the project before Indianapolis hosts the 2024 NBA All-Star game.” The details were “first laid out last week in a presentation” to the Indianapolis Historic Preservation Commission. Pacers VP/ Corporate Communications & External Affairs Danny Lopez said that developers will “return to the commission next month for approval” after taking feedback last week on the $20M project. The entertainment plans are "separate" from the $360M public and private funding to "renovate" Gainbridge Fieldhouse (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 4/12).
